Having no one to talk about what is going on.... once again, the President puts together an ongoing article. Our hardest member Bill Dillon continues to question ELS when and their response is yes it will get done. Give Bill a big round of applause for listening to that "PUT OFF" time and time again.
Bill has made sure we can play SAFELY in spite of courts that need work. We are not alone in that I hear Pine Lakes faces the same excuses.
Our current manager is still waiting for answers from Tampa.
We continue to play many venues and continue to be one of the CHEAPEST sources of organized tennis. As an association we are open to any who want to play from outside Lake Fairways or even visitors of time lengthy stays provided they join the association and pay the SAME dues as our regular members. We welcome all new players.
We will have had our first meeting with its potluck dinner. Over the 14 years I've been a member I've had so many homemade dishes that I can't wait for these meetings in order to find out what was being presented. You cannot buy food as good as this in any restaurant. This meeting will be an update for those members who arrived in January. This month is also the start of mixed doubles on Monday afternoons. Check our bulletin board for more info.
Mark these dates down******
Jan 21st and 22nd Good neighbor matches CANCELLED........
Feb 9th Social in the lounge at 5:30 pm.------
Feb 11th Round Robin signup sheets will be posted at the courts. -----
March 14th Members meeting with potluck and election of officers. FINALLY,
March 18th Round Robin our last event for the season.
NOTE: the round robin matches have a food event, and our tennis ladies decide what it will be and its cost?? The last Round Robin's food event cost is traditionally picked up by the Association as a Thank You for being a member and attending the matches.
That doesn't mean tennis in some form or other will continue. So, get out there and continue making "love" or at least friendships.
