A little alley cake.
Where does the time go?? As you read this, we have 5 weeks of bowling left. Our end of season get together is scheduled for Thursday March 24th. That had no effect on February 11th when Ron Faria rolled a spectacular 736 series with games of 245/237 & 254. Way to go Ron.
As you read this our bowling season ended on Friday March 18th.
It has been a heck of a year and we are already looking forward to next season. More on that later.
Our second to last week produced a great 253 from Dean Hurd. Way to go Dean.
Not to be out done, Scott Burns accepted the strike challenge, to lots of jeering, and knocked those pins crazy for a payoff of $210.
Scott was only the third person to complete the challenge this year.
Our other successful winners were Vicki Durand and George Sams.
The season wrap up get together was held Thursday March 24 in the main hall. Awards and presentations were handed out and the most improved bowler trophy was presented to???????. See next month
After a long winter’s nap, the bowlers came back on January 7th with a vengeance. Ron Faria started things off with a fine 259 game and a great 3 game series of 664. Way to go Ron. Not to be out done, Alice Murphy rolled a 200 game with a Turkey and 81 pins over her average. She was not satisfied with that and on January 14thshe had 2 turkeys and rolled 2 strings over her average. Welcome back Alice. What will the rest of the season be like???
Again, not to be undone George Sams had the winning ticket on January 14th, for the strike challenge and the pins cooperate by falling down for a nice payoff of $376. Congrats George.
It seems like we just started talking about the start of season and now we are looking at the end. As you read this there will only be 7 weeks left. I guess time does fly when you are having fun.
Well Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas ais almost here. A brand new 2022 is upon us. We hope you all have a fabulous holiday and wish you joy and happiness for the coming year.
The bowling league is steaming along quite well as you can see from the stats. Scott Burns continues to excel with a fine 637 series on November 12th.
As usual, there was no league bowling on Thanksgiving weekend. However, we did have a 9 pin tap on that Friday and a great many bowlers took advantage to work off the turkey dinners. Winners for that day were Arlene Hansen ( 859 ) and John Grab ( 864 ) Congratulations to both.
There is no bowling on Christmas and New Years Eves. We will resume on Friday January 7, 2022. Come on down and see if anyone can win the strike challenge. Many have tried but no one successfully. We thought Elaine Emanuele did it December 11th as the 7 pin wiggled but stayed up.
