Softball is coming back to Lake Fairways
Lake Fairway’s Softball is dusting off the bats and balls to getting back into shape again, we will have some new players as well as a lot of old ones. We will share on Facebook, at the clubhouse and at Saturday coffees, as well as on Facebook and the Main Hall in the clubhouse. Games will start the first week in January 2024.
Also coming in January 6th, it will be the Lake Fairways Softball team against the Lake Fairway’s Women’s Club in a Family Feud Showdown. Who will you be rooting for. Dinner starts at 6:00pm and the show will be 7:0pm to 8:30pm. The survey say’s it will be a fun time and only $10 to help the softball team.

If you are interested in coming out to practice, please let Fran Dempsey know, we will be announcing practices started at the end of October through December. We love the support for the team that the Community gives and as soon as we have the League schedule details and places confirmed we will share on Facebook, at the clubhouse and at Saturday coffees. Games will start in January 2024.

Another Softball seasons for Lake Fairways will be done when you read this but we will have 2 games left.
Let me just thank everyone who came out, helped, or gave to the team this year. We really appreciate everything you do. Special thanks to Fran Kid Dempsey for managing a bunch of wise guys. Not an easy job, but he really did an awesome job. Also thanks to Rick Tubs Miller, Scott Meat Burns, and Tom Sarge Kostera for running the team behind the scenes.

Last game play was 13Mar and for Lake Fairway’s Softball was a close call, the game went into the second inning, but due to rain the games were ended and canceled. Thank you to everyone who came out. We had a special revisit from Tanya who left LF but couldn’t resist seeing the old team. AS always Cat captured everything with pics for you, looks like there was romance in the air as well as lighting. 2 games left in the season, this Wednesday and next Monday. See you all next season.

Hello from the Lake Fairways Softball Fields.
Here we are in the middle of February with a 6-4 record with a lot of good wins and several tuff losses.
As the team gets together check us and the Fans out at Cape Coral North West Fields on Monday and Wednesday nights at 4pm.

To celebrate Valentine's Day, we captured some couples under the LF Softball Team Banner.
It is beginning to look a lot like Softball Season
It is Jan 13th; Lake Fairways Softball is off to a great start.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, the season started 4Jan with a Solid win 19-8 against the Buccaneer’s with Jeff Davis, JJ Johnson, Fran Kid Dempsey, and John Pope Grab all with a perfect Average of 1.000 and 23 hits for the team total. John Rocketman Donahue had 2 in park HR’s. The defense did well with only 2 errors.
For Game 2 9Jan it was against our sister Park (Little Sister to me), we handled them like we always have and JJ Johnson, and Fran Kid Dempsey maintained their perfect Average, While Rick Booth and Tom Gums Welsh maintain a high .833 and .750 average. Fran Kid Dempsey pitched a great game shutting Pine Lakes down for a 24-2 win.
Our last game before the 13Jan article deadline on 11Jan was against Del Tura Toros (the 2nd Del Tura team) and once again, we were hitting well, with 30 hits, JJ Johnson topping with a .909 Average with Paul Wolf McNeel catching up at .857 and Fran Kid Dempsey at .833. John Rocketman Donahue managed another In Par HR as well. Pitching was solid from Kid and John Pope Grab pitched to close out the game.

It is beginning to look a lot like Softball Season
To anyone interested in playing with the Lake Fairway’s team, please join us on Sunday’s at 10:30am. We have started practice already this November using the closed Practice Range (of course we have Management’s permission) and we were a little rusty. We are hoping Punta Gorda can get to Fields ready or we might have to play in Cape Coral. Season normal start for games is Monday and Wednesday nights starting in January. We will let everyone know what’s going on via Facebook and at Saturday coffee. As always you can contact Coach Fran Dempsey as well. We are looking forward to having a great season and seeing everyone come out for some fun. We are also Selling Shirts and trying to raise funds for needed equipment and Uniforms. Please see John Donahue if you are interested in helping.
