MEN'S CLUB

Huge shout out to the guys of the Men’s club that served the community for

free Lunch that was put on. The guys showed up in force handing out about 220 free meals. It was like a 1950’s drive in dinner, Golf Carts and Cars lined up in the parking lot covered with debris from the hurricane. For those that donated, it will all be given to the Tornado relief fund. Not to mention all the volunteer work for others, as well as helping out on the 90’s lunches every first Wednesday.

The last week we had a first Meeting of the year, we discussed our plans for the 2024 -2025 season as well as going over the corrections posted in the last Informer. 

We moved the Pancake Breakfast from the 19Oct to 26Oct.

For this November the guys are looking forward to supporting the women’s club at the Craft fair on the 2Nov as Friday night Bingo team will take care of the Tables set-up.

We are looking for Veterans to speak at the Veterans Day ceremony on 11Nov if you are interested talking contact John Donahue. It is very

important to hear your stories when so many out there can relate to you. You are not alone, and your sacrifice is appreciated.

We will squeeze a Men’s Club meeting on 19Nov to make sure we are

prepped for the holiday.

Next up is Thanksgiving, we will be having forms for the Turkey cooks.

Setting up, slicing, dicing, seating at tables, enjoying community together, and cleaning up in time.

For January 2024

We did not start the LF Men’s group, it was started by some of our bravest men. They set a standard for service and excellence. They made sacrifices and set an example to follow. After them came many men, so many I cannot name, but I know what they did with the time they had at Lake Fairways, they made a difference. So thankful for what they accomplished as well as proud of the group of guys today that continue to pass the torchon.

Thanksgiving on Nov 23. Wow, it was a gathering, a fellowship, a sharing, and a giving. Residents here really come together to celebrate. The cooks cooked, the Turkey slicers sliced, the Tables were all set, there was everything you can think of for a wonderful meal. After everything was eaten and given away, everyone helped clean-up to make the place ready for the next fun event. I really cherish the people of Lake Fairways 

Pool Side Lunch Luau was not only good food, but also a great show. Thank you, Dominic for the Entertainment. You heard of “Men in Tights”, but “Men in Grass skirts” can really shake’em down, and did the Residents love us now that we can dance. The pool was all tiki torched up and everybody who is anybody was there. Thanks for coming out.

Looking forward to having a lot more fun in January, more Breakfast, more Pool Lunch, and more serving you and the community.
