  • The Stronger Seniors Workout Program is designed to help seniors develop strength and enhance the ability to function in daily life.  These are easy weightlifting and balance exercises using video tapes. We meet each Tuesday and Thursday in the Main Hall of the Clubhouse at 8:00 am. Please wear comfortable clothing, preferably tennis shoes and bring a 1 to 5 pound weight. If you don't have a weight, a soup can will do.  As with any exercise program, be sure to consult with your health care provider before starting any exercise program.

Chess Club

Looking to get back into Chess again.

If you have played for years, or maybe you are really good, or would just like to learn so you can be one of the Cool people at Parties. Actually, don’t ever tell anyone at a party you play chess, I tried and was left at a table by myself. We would like to start a Lake Fairway’s Group for Chess. We have had a chess table donated and wanted to see if we could trick me and some other guys into the library again. Of course, women are welcome. There are 41 women that are Grand master’s (GM’s). There are 1742 GM’s and once a GM, you are one for life. Lake Fairways currently has 0 GM’s. Let me know if you are interested in playing, learning, or just want to challenge yourselves. We can play at the table, or I can set up a group on the Chess.com app online. Maybe we can have our own Lake Fairways Grandmaster?

Cards - Crafts & Chocolates

Cards and Crafts

Cards and Crafts Classes take place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons in the Rear Main Hall from October to April.

Each week we complete a make-and-take project, learn new crafting techniques, share tips, and have fun. Of course, there’s plenty of time for chatting with like-minded friends and neighbors and enjoying some chocolate treats!

All equipment and materials are provided at cost – but you must sign up and order your kit ahead of time so I can purchase and prepare the materials for you.

Our weekly sample cards are “sold” in exchange for a donation to the Harry Chapin Food Bank. We raised $248 in 2023!

We also have Show and Tell when our talented group show off their other crafty skills with gorgeous handmade quilts, glass art, cross stitch, sewing, watercolor painting, resin art, and stunning 3D cards to inspire us all.

New crafters are very welcome to join us. Each class is limited to 24 places and priority is given to past members. If you would like to join us when a place becomes available, you can message me on Facebook (Gillian Birch) or drop in at one of the classes.

    TAI CHI

Lake Fairways Parking lot - RETURNING IN THE FALL

    • A friendly group meets at the Main Hall to learn the ancient, meditative and health-giving moves of Taoist Tai Chi.
    • We start with 30 minutes of fundamental exercises that build strength and balance then end with the 108-move set.  Often described as dance like, the moves are slow, graceful and mildly aerobic.

Tai Chi Warmups ☯️Sally Mason does 35-40  minute warmups before her tai chi classes, and all are welcome.  You don’t have to stay for the tai chi class. Warmups are designed to promote flexibility, balance, and relaxation.  You leave class feeling that muscles have been gently stretched, and joints have been gently rotated.  You do as much as feels comfortable. We meet in the parking lot in front of the clubhouse every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 am. You are welcome to attend once or regularly. Welcome! Pat Hutz
